Before and After: Images of the Southwest Drought From Space

The severe drought in Texas peaked in the summer of 2011, leaving damage that could be seen from space. Satellite images from the United States Geological Survey and aerial photos show just how drastically the drought has altered the landscape of Texas and the American Southwest over time, from dried up lakes to dead trees.
